Splinting

Splinting is used to treat soft tissue and bony injuries of the upper extremity and hand by providing support and protection. They can be used for temporary immobilization of sprains, fractures, joint injuries, and an array of other pathologies. Our Certified Hand Therapists have extensive experience in splinting the upper extremity and hand to promote healing and an appropriate return to previous activity levels.

Splinting is extremely useful and helps promote healing through:

  • Immobilization
  • Positioning the upper extremity/hand in functional alignment
  • Decreasing deformity of a joint and body region.
